Neha Gupta won 2014 International Children’s Peace Prize , which is considered as the most prestigious international award that a young person can win. Miss Gupta got this award for her exceptional work to raise funds for the underprivileged children around the world. Neha founded Empower Orphans , an organisation designed to support orphans in India and US. She started her work at the age of 9 years. The organisation started by her has been raised 1 million dollars till date and has helped more than 25,000 children. The projects started by her include opening of libraries for children , providing better healthcare and education to underprivileged children. Penn State President Eric Barron’s words: “We are very proud that he has been recognized with the 2014 International Peace Prize ,and hope that this visibility will inspire others to also pursue worthy endeavours to benefit humankind.” The International Children’s Peace Prize was created by the Amsderdam- based children’s rights organization ,KidsRights and is awarded to children who have made contribution in improving children’s rights worldwide.
