Incidentally, I was thinking about Samadhi in spiritual journey and was reading some text on spirituality when this incident of suicide case of one of the bollywood actor (Sushant Singh Rajput) happened. A thought struck inside me, how is Suicide different from Samadhi? In both the cases one chooses his time to leave for the heavenly abode.
The difference seems to lie in the way one leaves the body . The thoughts and process by which the yogis(enlightened beings) leave the body are very pious and the process itself is very scientific. They have mastered the process to leave the body and all this happens in a very peaceful and smooth manner. When a person commits suicide, he leaves the body with the thoughts of helplessness, dejection and the like. It seems he forces the process on himself.
It is always said in our spiritual texts, the thoughts with which we leave the body decides the future path for us. If anybody feels dejected by life, he can always embrace spirituality and reorient his journey. Why to abruptly end it in the weakest of the forms? Why not find strength with in him? Spirituality always leads to strength and inner calm. One can learn to enjoy one’s journey within.
May every human being find peace and bliss.

Inner Science Series – Part 5
Making the most of auspicious days:
The auspicious days in Hindu Mythology like Shivratri , Vaikunta Ekadasi and more are the days on which there is powerful alignment of stars and planets. Our ancestors were much more aware of star alignments and chose these days when there were strong celestial alignments. It seems strong portal of energy opens up on these days.
To make most of these celestial alignments we need to prepare our bodies for reception of this energy. Meditation makes our body outwardly and inwardly calm and we act like strong receptors of energy. We can make most on these days by stealing ourselves away from our normal routine timetable and making ourselves available for meditation. We can absorb ourselves into deep meditation. We can take small gaps in between as we may not be trained to sit for long hours. Let these breaks or gaps be worthwhile and we do not indulge ourselves into energy consuming or mind stimulating activities like watching television, working on mobiles or other such gadgets that take us away from ourselves. Keeping calm and observing silence will help us absorb this energy better.
Let’s make the most of celestial alignments.
Let’s move on the path of spirituality.

Day in Day out Life is running.
There is hustle and bustle all around.
I too am running in this maddening rush.
This rush doesn’t seem to stop.
I consciously stop for a moment to observe the moment.
I consciously take a moment to peep inside .
I realise “It has been long since I have been with myself”
I realise “It has been long since I heard to the deep voice inside.”
I realise that”This is me a peaceful being whom I had forgotten from a long time.”

Vipassana
My Take on Vipassana after attending 10 Day residential course in Vipassana.
Vipassana is a form of meditation that trains one to travel inwards past one’s body. The basic principle on which it works is Law of Nature. According to it, the Dharma is nothing but, following Law of Nature. It prevails everywhere and is same for all human beings irrespective of their cast, creed or position. What we reap is the product of what we sow? Nothing can be done outside without generating it inside . All positivity or negativity is first generated inside and only then transmitted outside. If we generate negative emotions such as anger, fear, hatred, jealousy etc , the first ones to burn in this fire are we ourselves. This is the Nature’s way to punish us. Nature’s punishment will not be visible as most of us think. It is subtle but, prevailing. If we sow the seed of a mango tree we cannot expect an apple fruit to come on that tree. Same ways, if sow love and happiness, we reap love and happiness and if sow hatred and negativity we reap that only.
Second take from Vipassana meditation was that, even if our conscious mind knows what is right and what is wrong many times our subconscious mind doesn’t listen to it. It works on certain other parameters. We know that we should not get angry, but we do at times get angry and are unable to control our emotions. Vipasana teaches us to reach our subconscious mind and train the subconscious mind.
Vipassana teaches us the way of self liberation through self observation. It trains us to observe the subtle sensations generated in our body whenever emotions are generated . If become aware of what kind of sensations we are creating inside our body and how the reactions are taking place inside our body then, we will be able to control them. Knowing everything at conscious level is knowledge and this knowledge needs to be converted into experience.
In chemistry, we read about so many reactions and when we conduct practicals only then we can see for real what is happening. Likewise Vipasana is considered as the practicals conducted by ourselves on our body to see what is happening inside our body. Nobody outside has the power or control of what is happening inside our body. We ourselves are responsible for everything happening to us.

Spirituality and Religion are two different streams.
Spirituality leads us to liberation while Religion leads us to bondage.
Religion is a closed ecosystem with certain set of rituals and belief systems to be followed.Spirituality is an open space allowing one the freedom to grow in ones own way. Spiritual growth leads to liberation of soul . As we grow in spirituality we feel light within ourselves.
Spirituality mitigates craving for things. Detachment is the by product of spirituality and not its focus.
Finally ,Spirituality leads to Enlightenment of Soul or Moksha .
Inner Science Series – Part 1
Today , I was teaching chemistry to my daughter. The topic was “Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure”. In this chapter, there was a concept -“Every system tends to be more stable and chemical bonding is nature’s way of lowering the energy of the system to attain stability. Higher energy levels lead to instability of the system.” The purpose of bonding of atoms to form molecules is to reduce the overall energy of the system. As the energy levels of the system reduces the system becomes more and more stable.
I felt everything that is matter and everything that is beyond matter is interrelated. All the concepts of science are related to spirituality.
In spirituality , each of us is in search of stability and peaceful state of mind. We say that meditation makes us calm and stable. Our brain when in hyper active state is very unstable and generates a lot of thoughts. We are not peaceful in this state of mind. When we meditate, slowly the vibrations in our mind start slowing down, our thoughts start vanishing and the mindbecomes serene and calm like a deep ocean.
On closer look we will see both the concepts – in Chemistry and in Spirituality are the same. Both say the same thing- “Higher energy levels lead to instability in a system . Lowering the energy of the system the stability can be achieved.”
This concept can be extended to children who are hyper active. We usually see parents of hyperactive children being advised to put their children into sports or some sort of physical activity to expend their energy. It is same as saying reduce their energy levels by expending their energy so that they become calm and stable.
